Blasco with 59,06% of the overall votes has won the
Balearic
University Rectorial Elections. The other candidate who participated
in the second round, the professor of Organic Chemistry,
Pere
Deyà, gained 40,94% of the votes. These results indicate that
the 25,35% of the votes obtained in the
first
round by the Professor of Computer Sciences,
Llorenç
Valverde have been shared almost equally between Blasco and Deyà,
who have increased their votes respectively by 12.04% and 13.31% percent.
Avel·lí Blasco will replace Llorenç Huguet, who
will have been the rector of the institution for eight years and as from
now will dedicate his time exclusively to the presidency of the financial
entity, Sa Nostra, the position he has occupied for a few months.
