Now the dictionary
Diccionari Català-Valencià-Balear
(DCVB) by
Antoni Maria
Alcover and
Francesc
de Borja Moll can be consulted on Internet. The initiative forms part
of the project to digitize the DCVB carried out by the
Institut
d'Estudis Catalans with the collaboration of the
Editorial
Moll, owners of the dictionary. The digitization of the DCVB has had
the sponsorship of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Govern de les Illes Balears
and Govern d'Andorra.
Initiated by Antoni Maria Alcover and edited by Francesc de Borja Moll,
with the collaboration of Manuel Sanchis Guarner and Anna Moll Marquès,
the DCVB is a lexicon and entomological inventory of the ancient and modern,
dialectal and literary Catalan language, that is considered to be the obra
magna of Catalan philology.
Its launching on Internet coincides with the celebration of the
Francesc
de Borja Moll Year. The printed edition of DCVB has 10 volumes, 9.850
pages and 160.000 articles and can be acquired in the virtual shop of the
Editorial Moll for 600 euros.
