The hippie market that is held at Pilar de la Mola is a compulsory rendezvous for artisans from Formentera and one of the main tourist attractions of the town, situated on the extreme south, in the highest part of the island.

Every Wednesday and Sunday, between June and October, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., the "Fira de la Mola" holds workshops where the creators work with their different materials, such as wood, silver, stone... and there are stands where varied high quality artisan objects can be bought.

Veteran artisans who settled on Formentera in the hippie movement of the sixties, looking for the peace and freedom of the island, gather together in the market; also young artisans who arrive each summer in the most peaceful town on Formentera, following the steps of the established hippies. These youngsters wait near the market, hoping to contract a stable space in the exhibition area.

A few metres from the fair is Majoral's workshop and shop; he started marketing his creations in this hippie market. Full information about Majoral can be found on www.majoral.com.

Other artisans from Formentera also offer their work via internet, such as Jaume Mateu who works with ceramics and Frank y Quim, who create sculptures and varied objects from the roots of the juniper plant and the 'sabina' picked in the Formentera woods.
